Comparison
The best comparison mouse I have on hand is the Microsoft Explore 3.0. It is a full size desktop mouse, so it is a bit unfair, but it makes a good reference mouse.
V200 vs. The Beast
I’ve tried to compare the two mice where appropriate within each section. Both mice perform well, as one would expect coming from the world’s two leading manufacturers Bottom line, the Microsoft mouse is more comfortable for me. Otherwise the two mice are a toss up. Both work very well.
Verdict
For the price I paid, a little over 30 US, it is a good mouse. It works without any fuss and can yield noticeable productivity gains. It is certainly small enough to through in your bag (or cargo pants) and always have with your notebook. The only major grip that I have and the reason it might be worth the extra bucks for a V400 or V500 is the manner in which the receiver attaches to the mouse. I almost never pull my V200 out of the bag and actually find the receiver attached, which means fishing in out. Someday I will lose it, curse Logitech, and buy yet another mouse to add to my collection.
